Year of Service
#DoTheRightThing
The first event of our year of service with the "Do The Right Thing Toy Drive". During our first year we were able collect and buy enough toys to bless 3 classrooms full of pre-k students. We were also able to give a class of 1st graders school supplies all toys and supplies collected were donated directly to the students of East Iberville Elementary. Our 2nd installment of Do The Right Thing we were able to donate to over 200 students in Mansfield, Alexandria, Baton Rouge and New Orleans Louisiana. This year we plan to visit Atlanta, Dallas, & Houston as well as all of our Louisiana locations. Please email [email protected] for details or use the gofundme link below to donate.

#SchoolDaze
During our time working in the Baton Rouge community we noticed a common struggle faced by parents and teachers were having school supplies for their students. So in January of 2017 we set out to invest in twenty students outside of those that we see on a daily basis. We collected supplies the entire month of January and were able to gift 45 students with notebooks, paper, pens, and markers. This supply drive was small compared to what we have planned for August of this year. Stay tuned for more Year of Service events!

#IGotTheHookup
The“IGotTheHookup” Backpack Drive is a huge event we were able to give away over 120 backpacks filled with school supplies to students throughout Louisiana. During this program we canvas communities using social media, physical flyers, and word of mouth to find out the number of families in need. On our giveaway day we drove from Lafayette to Baton Rouge dropping off backpacks. This year we are starting early so if you have any donations please contact us at [email protected] or visit the gofundme link below.

Traveling Programs
#ADifferentWorld
We look to inspire the children in our communities on a daily basis. In an effort to keep this inspiration going we are bringing a group of high school students to the African American Culture Center (AACC) on the campus of Louisiana State University. To get the experience of a black college student on the campus of a predominately White institution we put on a program that brings Black organizations from multiple. We were able to bring organizations from ULL,SU,LSU, and surrounding universities to share with the students. The main focus of this program is to show students the broad variety of organizations available to Black college students across the state.
In Living Color
“InLivingColorArts&CraftsDay” This program was created to bring art as a form of expression back into “failing schools”. During this program we buy art supplies for students attending and bring in local artists from surrounding areas to teach them basic concepts of art. We focus on painting, drawing, photography, and digital media and lessons vary based on age group. We have put this program on 4 times since it was created in November 2017.
